If a computer detects no input for a period of time, it will first switch the screen to sleep mode to save power. For 2-in-1 devices with Windows 10, a system setting also ensures that the user has to log in again after the display has been automatically switched off. This is done by a registry key that can be reset.
Press the Windows+R hotkey to open the Run window, type Regedit and hit enter. After the user account control warning is acknowledged with a yes, switch to the HKEY_CURRENT_ USER\ControlPanel\Desktop branch. In the right column, you will find the DelayLockInterval key.
This is set to 0 by default, which means that as soon as the display goes into sleep mode, you have to log in again. If you enter another decimal value, for example, 30, this time is increased to 30 seconds.
The third option: if you delete the key, you don’t have to log in again at all. However, this poses a not insignificant security risk, so it is best to avoid it.
