How can I check the password strength in the Chrome browser?

Strong passwords are now a standard requirement if you don’t want your account to be hacked in a matter of minutes.

Starting with Chrome 88, Chrome supports a new feature that lets you check the strength of your password directly from the browser.

To activate this feature manually, type Chrome://settings/passwords in the address bar and then click the Check Passwords button with your mouse.

Chrome loads the password manager page, which shows not only which accounts the browser stores passwords for, but also whether any of the stored passwords are leaked or weak and therefore not adequately protected.

These passwords should be changed as soon as possible to ensure security! However, it is important to note that the password should not be changed on this interface, but on the service itself, as Chrome only stores – say – the Facebook password to facilitate access!
