If you don’t use the Windows 10 search feature to find emails, documents, or workbooks, you can disable its components – saving system resources. The indexing service always runs in the background and documents any changes to files.
Open the Run window with the Windows+ R shortcut, type services.msc, and click OK to confirm. Find the Windows Search entry at the bottom of the Services list and double-click to open the Properties window.
In the General tab, under Startup type, select this: Disabled. Close the window with OK to ensure that Windows Search is disabled from the next restart.
