How can I set an Animated screensaver instead of a static lock screen?

With Windows 8, Microsoft introduced the lock screen, retiring the screen saver that has been popular for decades.

The feature hasn’t gone away, however, it’s just been hidden deep in the settings: open the Machine Store, select Personalise, and click the Lock Screen category in the left-hand column.

Scroll all the way down and click the blue Screen Saver Settings link. In the Screen Saver Options window that opens, under Screen Saver, select one of the six options offered, such as Ribbons, and click the Lightning View button to see how it will appear for a moment. Then, in the Wait for box, record how many minutes of idle time before the screensaver turns on.

If you opt for 3D Text or Photos, you can click on the Options button for additional options. Finally, click OK to save your changes.
