How can I set up a VPN connection with Windows’ own devices?

In the notification area of the taskbar, click on the network icon, then Network and Internet settings, and select the VPN category from the left-hand column. Clicking on the Set up a new VPN connection button will bring up a window with the same name.

Under VPN service provider, select Windows (built-in), and the Connection name is optional. In the Server Name or Address field, we will enter the address that we will receive from the VPN provider. Under Virtual Private Network Type, select PPTP, the Login Credentials Type remains User Name and Password.

Then enter the username and password, tick the Remember login details checkbox and save the settings by clicking Save. You’ll automatically be back in the VPN window, so you can try your new connection straight away. Click on the appropriate entry and select the Connect button.
