How can I set up two monitors in Windows 10?

If the video card has more than one output, connecting two (or more) monitors to the computer is possible. It doesn’t matter whether you have two HDMI ports, one HDMI port, one Display Port, or some other arrangement. The relationship between the two displays can, of course, be set according to individual preference.

Open Settings, then select System | Display. Scroll down to the Multi-screen section, then use the drop-down list to specify how you want the content to be displayed; the two displays can work side by side, but you can also choose to have the same display on both devices. This can be useful, for example, if you have a projector connected to a notebook. It is also an option to have Windows use only one or the other display.

If you choose the extended mode and use the two displays side by side, you can determine their order and position relative to each other by “nudging” the pictograms.

When mirroring, note that if the resolution of the monitors is different, the lower resolution will be the one that counts; for example, if you use a 3840×2160 pixel monitor and a 1920×1080 pixel monitor in mirrored mode, the detail on both will be 1920×1080 pixels.
