How can I turn off the automatic insertion of Emojis in Outlook?

By default, Outlook automatically converts ASCII emoticons into images. If you type 😉 or ;-), for example, it becomes a winking smiley. If you don’t want this, you can prevent the conversion. Once the graphic is displayed, hover over it with the mouse pointer.

Click on the little drop-down box that appears for Auto Repair Options, and select Disable Auto Repair “;)” so that the “;)” does not appear as a smiley in the future. Since the conversion is controlled by auto-correct, there is another way to do it. Select the File/Settings/Levels category, click on the Spell & Auto Repair button, and in the new window click on the Auto Repair Options button. All supported emoticons are listed in the auto-correct list.

Select an entry and click Delete to get rid of it. Remove any unwanted combinations and click OK to close the opened windows. In the same way, you can also stop Word from automatically converting ASCII emoticons to smileys.
