Although Microsoft has added two modern browsing tools to its operating system with the original Microsoft Edge introduced in Windows 10 and the new Chromium-based Edge browser released later, the old Internet Explorer 11 is still haunting Windows. The problem is that IE cannot be removed as it is deeply embedded in the system architecture. You can turn off the insecure browser, but you need administrator rights to do so.
Start by typing Windows services in the search box in the Control Panel, and click Turn Windows services on and off. Find Internet Explorer 11 in the list of services, uncheck the checkbox, and then answer yes to the warning. Click OK to save. At the end of the process, restart your computer. Click Restart now.
For those who prefer to work with Windows PowerShell, open it as administrator and type Disable-Windows- OptionalFeature -FeatureName “Internet- Explorer-Optionalamd64”-Online and enter to approve.
Finally, press “Y” and enter, which will restart the computer, which is unfortunately required to execute the command.
