Windows 11 in the cloud

Windows 11

Microsoft has decided to sell Windows 11 as a bundle and the cloud version will run on virtual machines.

Microsoft is increasingly turning to cloud solutions, and the next step in this process is to make Windows 11 available in the cloud. Windows will run on a virtual machine, and the name of the build will be, unsurprisingly, Windows 365. It is planned to be available for licensing from the second half of August.

There will be no slippage, as Windows 10 will be available at launch, with users being able to switch to the new system later when Windows 11 is released. According to the information available now, there will be only one switch between Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Microsoft’s main target group for the new scheme is business users, including companies with a large number of home office workers. For completeness, Windows running in the cloud is already available as part of the Azure cloud-based offering, but Azure Virtual Desktop, with its complex management interface and tiered pricing, is only a viable alternative for large enterprises. Windows 11 in the cloud, on the other hand, will be much more manageable, Microsoft promises. The system will run in a browser, so it shouldn’t be a problem to use it at home and work.

A big advantage of the cloud-based solution is that employees can use their own devices, as their performance has almost no impact on the performance of Windows 11 running in the cloud. The system will be available with a monthly subscription, which Microsoft promises will be activated with just a few clicks.

Once paid, virtual Windows will be available in a very short time.

The exact price of the scheme is not yet known. If the hardware can be upgraded, the scheme could also be of interest to gamers, who will be able to buy a machine that runs the latest titles perfectly and without any problems with just a few clicks.
