How do I install the latest ISO file for Windows 10?

Most of you are probably aware that Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool allows you to create a USB key in a matter of seconds, which you can then use to install the latest version of Windows 10 on your PC or notebook. Fewer people know that you can also use the same tool to create an ISO file, which can be helpful to, among other things, if you want to install Windows on a virtual computer.

But you can download ISOs not only with this tool but also directly from the Microsoft website. However, this requires a little trick. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-en/software-download/windows10 using Edge or Chrome browser, then press [Ctrl+ Shift+I] to activate Developer Mode. Now use [Ctrl+ Shift+M] to switch to device emulation mode, then select iPad or iPad Pro from the drop-down list on the left, next to the current resolution of the website. Once you’re done, press [F5] to refresh the website!

Instead of the Download Windows 10 option, you will see the Download Windows 10 images (ISO files) option. Scroll down to the Choose to Download section, select which version of Windows you want to download from the drop-down list.

There’s something piquant about the fact that a straightforward Windows download requires the use of an iPad, i.e., a gadget running a different operating system.
