Are you ready for Windows 11?

Microsoft itself has released a checker tool, but Ashampoo’s solution is more convenient – and provides more information. The next version of Windows will arrive in the autumn – if all goes according to plan. The system has a reasonable system requirement in principle, but some criteria exclude many current PCs from the upgrade. The Windows 11 Compatibility Check will check your machine (whether desktop or laptop) in a matter of seconds and then produce a report of the results. This report is not only detailed about the problems, but it’s also better than Microsoft’s application because it provides more information about a specific problem.

Ashampoo’s software focuses on the TPM requirements, as this is what will disrupt in most cases. The software will check the processor, RAM, HDD (or SSD) compliance, GPU requirements, whether the motherboard has UEFI, and whether it supports Secure Boot. The overview window is neatly arranged and has the great advantage of showing the system requirements side by side, as well as the current performance level of your machine.

Another useful piece of information is that the app can show you all the AMD and Intel processors that Windows 11 supports, so you can quickly find out, for example, if you need to upgrade your motherboard and RAM along with your CPU.

Ashampoo’s application is recommended in particular because it also gives some guidance on possible ways to troubleshoot the problem. It is not always the case whether the problem can be solved by simply changing the settings, or whether new hardware (e.g. GPU) has to be purchased or the TPM needs to be intervened in-house. Based on the recommendations and options outlined, everyone can then decide whether their machine can reasonably be prepared for Windows 11.
